So here is my girl with her first set of pigtails, compliments of her Nana (my mom)! I got a chuckle from this picture because she looks, as a friend of mine once said, "like she's got a little spit and vinegar in her"! Boy does she! (must get it from her daddy.... ha!)
My parents came over last night to spend the 4th with us. They spent the night since we were all headed to my brother's for breakfast and swimming this morning. Around 1am, we were all awakened by a blood curdling scream from Molly's room. Scotty and I both jumped out of bed (a first for him...he NEVER hears anything in the night!) and ran down the hall. Molly was sitting up in her crib absolutely hysterical. I grabbed her up and she stopped screaming immediately. I would have thought she was still asleep, but she was clinging to me so tightly I knew she wasn't. Scotty was searching for any clues....throw up, blood, fever, a poisonous creature of some sort....but found nothing. She clung to me, and then once she realized daddy was in the room, she wanted him. He rocked her for a long time, and I was sure she was asleep when out of nowhere she says in a whisper, "a fish". We were both trying not to laugh, and a few minutes later she says, "fie, sick, senen, ate, nie, ten" (translated five, six, seven...you get the picture). So best we can tell, our child was awakened in the middle of the night by a terrifying dream about a counting fish! One of those moments where you ache with love for your child because they are so innocent and vulnerable, and you are the only one who will bring them the sense of love and security they need....especially from counting fish!
To continue my randomness, here is a picture of me from a few days ago....
